The Impact office staff are efficient and friendly, communicating via phone, SMS and/or email.A detailed quote for a total replacement of my fuse box was supplied with Impact handling all the communications and paper work with Ausgrid. The team who did the work a) arrived on time on the scheduled date, b) were well presented in company uniforms with name tags, c) were polite, tidy and kept me informed as work progressed and d) thoroughly checked their work before leaving to ensure Ausgrid compliance, providing me with a copy of the compliance document.I would highly recommend this company.

What an amazing experience. I found out this morning I had a major issue with my electrical box at home, one of the fuses had melted and I needed a Level 2 electrician urgently as I could not safely use my power. After a few calls I finally was recommended to Impact Electrical. They said took my call straight away, understood the urgency of my situation and send someone out straight away. As I was at work, they called to quote the price of what needed to be done. I was happy with the quote, and the job was done quickly. I am so grateful to the team at Impact Electrical for their swift response and genuine service and price. I highly recommend their services. Thank you so much to the team for helping me out of a scary situation. I feel safe that my electrical system is now safe.

Absolutely amazing electricians! We lost all power on a Sunday morning, and after calling close to 20 electricians, we found out we needed an ASP Level 2 certified specialist to change our Barge Fuse. Half of the electricians we spoke to didn’t have the necessary qualifications, and the others couldn’t come out until Monday, which wasn’t an option with two young kids at home. One quoted a fortune due to double rates.
Then we called Impact Electrical & they arranged James to come out within a few hours and charged us a flat rate instead of taking advantage of Sunday rates. He was incredibly kind, fixed everything quickly, and even gave us helpful advice about other issues we might need to address in the future, as our house is a bit older.
I can’t recommend them enough! We were in a desperate situation, and they truly came through for us—genuine heroes! Love local businesses who have such a community minded approach.

Where Do Our Level 2 Electricians Work on the Central Coast?

We're based in Toukley and cover the whole Coast, but Level 2 work matters most where power has a long way to travel. On acreage, farms and hinterland blocks, supply often crosses private land on poles the owner is responsible for, and consumer mains can run for hundreds of metres. When a pole ages, a line sags or a storm brings a branch down, it's the Level 2 side that fails.

That's why private pole replacements, overhead supply upgrades and long mains runs make up so much of our work in these areas, and why we carry the poles, cable and hardware to fix most rural supply problems on the first visit.

Not on the list? We service every suburb from Gosford to Lake Macquarie. If you're on the Central Coast, give us a call.

Somersby plateau and the M1 corridor

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service rural suburbs like Kulnura and Mangrove Mountain?

Yes. Kulnura, Mangrove Mountain, Peats Ridge, Somersby, Yarramalong, Wyong Creek, Jilliby and the surrounding hinterland are regular territory for us, and the same goes for the rest of the Central Coast.

What can a Level 2 electrician do that a standard electrician can't?

A standard electrician works from your switchboard inwards: lights, power points, appliances and internal wiring. A Level 2 electrician can also connect and disconnect power at the pole or pit, replace barge fuses, install and replace private power poles, repair and upgrade consumer mains, install and upgrade electricity meters, and rectify Ausgrid defect notices. If your job involves any of those, a general electrician will have to call in a Level 2 anyway.

How much does a Level 2 electrician cost on the Central Coast?

Most of our Level 2 work is quoted as a fixed price once we've seen the job. As a guide, Level 2 electricians on the Central Coast typically charge between $120 and $180 per hour for smaller call outs, with larger jobs such as pole replacements or mains upgrades priced as a project. Quotes are free and obligation-free.

Are your Level 2 electrical services transparently priced?

Yes. The written quote you receive before work starts is the price you pay, and if we find something unexpected on the job we stop and talk to you before going any further.

How quickly can you respond to Level 2 electrical issues?

Urgent faults get same-day attention. Planned work such as meter upgrades, pole installations and mains upgrades depends partly on Ausgrid approval times, which we manage for you, and we'll give you a realistic timeframe when we quote.

Do you provide genuine 24/7 emergency electrical services?

Yes. Our Level 2 electricians are on call around the clock, and you'll speak to a real person who can tell you how soon someone will be there.

What Level 2 services does Impact Electrical provide on the Central Coast?

Barge fuse replacements, meter installations and upgrades, consumer mains repairs and upgrades, private pole installations and replacements, three-phase power installations, emergency reconnections, supply-related switchboard upgrades and Ausgrid defect notice rectification, for residential, commercial and industrial properties.

What is a Level 2 electrician?

A Level 2 electrician is a licensed electrician who also holds Accredited Service Provider (ASP) status from the NSW Government, which authorises them to work on the network between the street and your switchboard. On the Central Coast that network belongs to Ausgrid, so you'll sometimes hear "Ausgrid Level 2 electrician". The ASP scheme has three levels: Level 1 providers build new network infrastructure such as substations and street mains, Level 2 providers connect and service individual properties, and Level 3 providers design the network. For your own property's supply, Level 2 is who you need.

Not sure whether your job needs a Level 2?

Give us a call and we'll talk it through before you commit to anything.
