Electrical Upgrade for Outdoor Dining Space

Project Overview
We recently completed a custom electrical installation for a client in Lake Munmorah, transforming their outdoor dining area into a functional and inviting space. Working in close collaboration with both the client and the builder, our goal was to create a lighting and power setup that complemented the design while ensuring long-term safety and convenience.
Our Approach
During our initial consultation, we discussed the client’s vision for their outdoor space: a place that was both practical for entertaining and beautifully lit for evening use.
Rather than using a standard batten light, we recommended installing downlights paired with a dimmer switch to elevate the ambiance and aesthetic appeal of the area.
The Work
On our first visit, we carried out the rough-in phase, running all necessary cabling for lighting, ceiling fans, and power outlets before the plasterboard installation.
Upon returning, we completed the fit-off, which included:
- Installing six downlights for balanced illumination
- Fitting two ceiling fans for improved comfort and air circulation
- Adding five power outlets for flexible use of appliances and outdoor equipment
We also added a new circuit to the switchboard, complete with a safety switch, ensuring the entire setup met current Australian electrical standards.
The Result
The finished space now offers the perfect combination of function and atmosphere: an outdoor area that’s safe, comfortable, and stylish. The lighting and fan configuration enhances the usability of the space year-round, while the new circuit and safety features provide complete peace of mind.
